About Flappie: Flappie is a revolutionary smart cat door with integrated prey detection. Based on artificial intelligence, Flappie immediately recognizes when your cat tries to bring presents (e.g., mice, birds) into the house. Once recognized, the cat door locks automatically, and the cat (including the prey) stays outside until it returns with no prey. Key Res-paw-nsibilities: Maintain and expand our existing codebase in Python 🐍 and C, adding new feline-tures as required Optimize and integrate existing code and architecture to ensure purr-fect functionality on our AI catflap Improve the application's performance, reliability, and security through rigorous code review and re-fur-ctoring Establish and implement purr-ocesses to professionalize our development pipeline, enhancing code quality and team efficiency Contribute to backend development projects as needed, ensuring smooth integration with our paw-duct ecosystem For candidates with embedded software experience: Work on improving our firmware using Buildroot, enhancing the functionality and reliability of our hardware Required Skills and Expurr-ience: Strong purr-ficiency in Python, including experience with AI/ML libraries Expurr-tise in C programming, particularly for embedded systems Solid understanding of embedded systems development, including design with preemptive, multi-tasking real-time operating systems Experience with unit testing and software quality assurance Knowledge of cyber-security purr-inciples and secure coding practices Comfortable working in Linux environments Self-motivated team player with excellent com-meow-nication skills and fluency in English (written and verbal) Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a startup environment Loves cats! 😻😻😻 Plus Paw-ints 🐾: Experience with IoT device development and edge comuting Experience in computer vision algorithms and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Py-Torch) Experience in Go-lang (or should we say Meow-lang?)
