At Phileas, currently a team of 3, we are building energy production forecasting models for wind and solar energy producers to promote the adoption and viability of green energy. We're looking for a new Principal Data Scientist teammate to help develop these forecasting models and set out technical strategy. We are a small team with great potential. Together with us, you will have the opportunity to guide our ML development focus and take on a leader/mentor role as our team expands! We are located in Vienna, Austria, although home-office is possible. Please indicate in your application that you would be willing to relocate to Austria and work full-time (38.5h). *Must-Have experience: * Programming with Python and using common data science libraries (e.g., NumPy, Matplotlib, Plotly) Machine Learning Modeling frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow) Exploratory Data Analysis, critical thinking, pragmatic problem solving *Nice-to-have experience: * Model deployment Time-series forecasting (e.g., Darts or PyTorch Forecasting) Cloud training and deployment (e.g., SageMaker, S3, EC2) Applications in the energy sector, industrial data science, or renewable energy Technical leadership and project management We're looking for someone ready to dive deep to implement novel research methods, pragmatically deliver rapid prototypes, and help shape our ML strategy.
