ETH Entrepreneur Club launches new startup jobs platform with Swisspreneur

The ETH Entrepreneur Club is launching the new startup jobs platform joinup in collaboration with Swisspreneur. The two non-profit organizations are focusing on the collective benefit for the Swiss startup ecosystem: “With joinup, our goal is to solve a pain point of many startups in Switzerland and at the same time simplify the entry into the startup world for the top-qualified students of our universities”, explains Pascal Küng, project leader of joinup.

Startups are always looking for qualified personnel with various skill sets. Finding the right candidate is essential, especially for smaller startups, because first hires can mean the difference between success and failure. But the search for employees is not always easy. Startups do not enjoy the same high level of recognition among students and young professionals as large companies.

Conversely, many graduates from the best Swiss universities are looking for fulfilling practical experience in innovative and promising startups. Again, it's not easy to get an overview of all the opportunities. «I came across my startup job by chance through an Instagram story. With joinup, I could have searched for jobs specifically, which would have been more efficient», says Lea Stöckli, former president of the ETH Entrepreneur Club.

This gap is now to be closed. On joinup.ch, a profile can be created and jobs posted within minutes. Candidates can then search for jobs and startups based on various criteria. They also have the option to fill out their profile with their experience and skills and thus be found by interested startups.

Thanks to the ETH Entrepreneur Club's connections to the universities, startups on joinup will have access to an excellent talent pool. Not only the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Lab of ETH Zurich but also EPFL, Startup@HSG and the University of Zurich support the project.
