AeroFusion – Sustainable Space Propulsion powered by Solar and Beamed Energy
Project Status & Core Goals: The conceptual framework, branding, and a 4-stage research path are ready. AeroFusion is now seeking an academic partner to bridge the gap between intuition and deep technical execution. Our 4-Stage Research Plan: - Stage 1 (Months 1–6): Material testing of reflector surfaces in a vacuum chamber. - Stage 2 (Months 7–12): Building a 100g carbon test-drone for a vertical 500m launch using a 30-kW ground laser. - Stage 3 (Years 2–5): Scaling to a 10-MW laser for clean, commercial CubeSat satellite launches into low Earth orbit. - Stage 4 (Years 5+): Integrating Solar Electric Propulsion (Argon plasma) for deep space missions. What we are looking for: We are looking for a Technical Co-Founder or Master/PhD students in physics, aerospace engineering, or material sciences (e.g., from ETH Zürich or FHNW). Your role will be to challenge the physical framework, run initial simulations, and anchor the project academically so we can apply for Swiss startup funding (like Venture Kick or Innosuisse) together.
