We are building a SaaS platform which makes utility companies ready for a renewable energy future. Among others, your main responsibilities in this role are the following: - Manage customer relationship and deliver customer projects in accordance with pre-agreed timeline and scope - Work with our customers to set up our solution in their organization (current focus: utility companies in the DACH region) - Communicate clearly with the project team and client stakeholders the project expectations and progress on a regular basis - Planning and execution of our project roadmap to meet project milestones together with the customer - Collaborate closely with our co-founders and product and sales team - Refining our product vision, and deriving and prioritizing product requirements for different customer groups - Supporting business development with industry partners (e.g. SAP, bpc, Theben) We define ourselves by a culture of collaboration and ownership. Users of our software can track their energy consumption and ´ buy renewable energy from their neighbors, which makes investing in the energy transition simple and fun! Our software processes smart meter data and computes smart real-time prices for locally produced energy which make renewable energy financially more attractive. End-users receive an app that maps the sources of their energy, making their electricity consumption more understandable. Our team consists of a diverse mix of engineers and business developers and we are all motivated to use technology to create a sustainable impact in our society. Our company will be growing in the next months and we are looking for motivated and passionate people to complement our team. We operate a stack with a backend built in a strict micro-services pattern with polyglot services written in Python and TypeScript. Technologies are chosen to fit the purpose (e.g. time series, relational, no-sql databases). All deployments rely on Helm and run on platform-agnostic Kubernetes clusters. Our frontend is a Vue SPA (TypeScript) with a continuously extending feature set. The job can potentially performed remotely in Switzerland/EU/EFTA states. Tasks As a Software Engineer at Exnaton, you are one of our first employees and shape the company and its vision from the ground up. Among others, your main responsibilities are the following: Develop a state-of-the-art application for the energy sector Building highly-reliable software Operating customer deployments Collaborate closely with our Chief Technology Officer to bridge the gap between the backend and analytical core of our product As we are planning to grow the team in the next few years, you will ideally support and mentor new colleagues and review the team’s technical design, code, and documentation in the future Requirements We define ourselves by a culture of collaboration and ownership. The qualifications we are looking for in an ideal candidate are the following: Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering or relevant experience (we are happy to consider applicants without formal degree if you can demonstrate relevant skills); Min. 2 years industry experience in developing productive software, ideally with experience in an agile development environment; Knowledge about DevOps, containerisation or orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and OS concepts; Know-how of systems design and software architecture (microservices pattern); Interest in renewable energy and understanding of energy systems is a big plus; Pragmatic mindset, make quick decisions, and clearly prioritize on what moves the needle; Share our mission for sustainability and love what you do (and own it).
