Fave, a new social platform dedicated to empowering passionate fans and the creators they love, is hiring a Head of Engineering, enabling the company to accelerate and fulfill their mission to allow superfans to unapologetically obsess in their passions. This is a mission-critical role for Fave, and the leader will provide the vision, strategic direction, and growth for the technology and engineering arm of the Fave business as part of an ambitious growth journey to create a leading social platform, multi-way marketplace, efficient creator tools, powerful analytics, fan-centric content, unprecedented fan experiences powered by technology, and more. This lead will play the key role in ensuring that Fave runs one of the most innovative businesses in the world dedicated to fandom. You will be responsible for building and scaling a cohesive engineering organization from the ground up. You will lead the company's Software Engineering teams, and report directly to the CEO. You are walking into strong progress with a product MVP built, tons of learnings from beta users, exciting product vision, and powerful industry support & investments from the most powerful music and entertainment companies controlling the biggest fandoms in the world and top venture capitalists. Ideally, this role will be based in Switzerland or California, but will be remote near-term and other locations are up for discussion. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Defining and creating the technology platform on which Fave is built - Hire, grow, and scale a strong engineering team to execute the technology vision - Develop a medium and long-term infrastructure strategy in line with Fave’s future needs, while ensuring high performance and balancing cost - Own the strategic integration of data platforms, cross-platform strategy, and scalability of platforms across Fave as the workloads and product portfolio expands. - Ensure the availability, resiliency, reliability, and scalability of Fave’s infrastructure environment throughout the modernization transformation that requires 24x7x365 up-time - Partner with the CEO and key team members on product innovation and delivery - Collaborate with CEO in finding talent and building out the organization IDEAL EXPERIENCE: Strong technology leadership experience. Leading and growing application teams, such as Mobile Applications, Video platforms, Creator software or tooling. Infrastructure expertise from the leading players in the space (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is required. Domain experience or passion. Past experience (or a strong desire to work) in social, mobile app, gaming, video, music, entertainment, sports, fan engagement, marketplaces, and/or can empathize with the fan user mindset with the drive to propel it forward. Team leadership experience of large engineering teams. Highly technical, with experience scaling and leading organizations from a 0 to few to dozens of engineers. Entrepreneurial leader with success in a high growth environment. Proven track record of success as the engineering leader driving an organization through a fast growth phase with a focus on building high-performing engineering organizations, or as an engineering leader who has thrived in large companies in an “intrapreneurial” role where they were responsible for driving growth.
