About

climate-compatible, profitable buildings

The construction and operation of buildings cause almost 40% of global CO2 emissions. In order to prevent a climate disaster, the building stock must therefore be urgently renovated and made climate-compatible - but the various key players in the building sector lack the know-how, tools and financial incentives to do this. With greenovate, we want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector to net zero as quickly as possible and thus contribute to a sustainable and liveable future. We dream of a world in which climate-friendly buildings are the standard - not only because they are sustainable, but also because they are financially worthwhile. To achieve this, we developed a technology platform that for the first time enables a holistic, scientifically sound and automated calculation and optimisation of the climate compatibility of buildings. This enables the key players in the building sector to plan, build and finance in a climate-friendly manner in a simple and profitable way - and thus to do their part to prevent the climate disaster.

About us greenovate is a technology platform that enables climate action in the building sector to contribute to achieving a climate compatible building stock with net zero CO2 emissions. Our platform provides software solutions for building owners, financial institutions, authorities, as well as architects and construction managers to design, build, renovate and finance in a climate-compatible way. Our algorithms calculate both the climate compatibility (compliance of the CO2 footprint with the 1.5°C target) and current climate risks (overheating in summer, floods, landslides, legal regulations, levies, etc.) of buildings as well as the cost-optimal strategy to reduce CO2 emissions to a 1.5°C compliant level. For this purpose, we connect up-to-date and site-specific data from various sources and perform a high-resolution building simulation. Taking into account local conditions and regulations, the feasibility as well as the ecological and financial impact of various measures are then examined, whereby the building is viewed holistically in each case, including the building materials used, energy demand and energy sources. Now that we have developed the software, we want to make it accessible in a web application – and that's where you come in! If you feel addressed, join us. You will have the power to develop our web application from scratch.
