HIT Coach is a deep tech startup aiming to improve skills of martial art practitioners and increase their exercise engagement using recent advancements in Computer Vision and Machine Learning.
We aim to enable dynamic and immersive exercise experience by just using your smartphone/tablet device without any need of additional tracking sensors and/or frequent involvement of professional coaches.
We have recently launched our first product, an iOS application enabling martial art guided exercises on iPhone devices (https://lnkd.in/eRcC49FW). We now aim to integrate the latest research advancements and move the experience to the next level.
#About the Position
We are looking for an entrepreneurial and talented Co-founder & Lead Researcher/Research Engineer to become an integral part of HIT Coach’s founding team.
#Responsibilities will include:
Research and development in the area of 100FPS+ robust body joint tracking, hand tracking, body posture; aiming to improve the accuracy and robustness of punch and reaction speed calculation, technique correction as well as provide novel solutions
Integration of the results of research into the iOS HIT Coach application
Help building features of the iOS HIT Coach application
Help building and improving the company's software tools and processes
Increasing the Intellectual property portfolio
This is a unique opportunity to work on the cutting edge of Computer Vision and Machine Learning, whilst shaping the direction of an exciting early-stage deep tech startup and benefitting from the upside potential that comes with it.
HIT Coach has strong growth ambitions, and we anticipate that this role will evolve to leading a team of researchers.
#Technical Requirements
Deep research and practical experience in at least one of the areas: Body joint tracking, Head pose tracking, Hand tracking, Visual SLAM, Robotic Perception; evidenced through academic publications, software repositories or industry experience
Excellent software development skills in Python and C/C++
Proficiency in using Pytorch or Tensorflow for model training
Proficiency in using packages such as Numpy, Scipy, OpenCV, Pandas
Ability to setup training and evaluation pipelines for ML problems
Proficiency modelling optimization problems, either using existing libraries (e.g. Ceres, Eigen) or building from scratch
Working experience with Git, Bash and Unix command line tools (or Windows OS alternatives)
Working experience with code and project management tools (e.g. Bitbucket, Gitlab, Jira, Azure CI/CD, Jenkins)
#Beneficial Technical Extras
Experience/interest in the area of Human/Sports Biomechanics
An interest in learning how to deploy machine learning in production
iOS development skills
Experience with ML training and ML model performance evaluation in the cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS)
Experience or interest in working with depth sensors and point clouds
Experience or interest in learning AR/VR toolkits (e.g. ARCore, OpenXR, OpenVR, ARKit)
