About
Chemical Engineering with PhD in Mechanical Engineer. Full-stack developer.
Chemical Engineer with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, specialized in designing and testing experimental setups and data acquisition systems. 10+ years of hands-on experience with advanced materials, including thin film stacks, solar absorbing compounds, gas sensors and their protection mechanisms against poisoning gases, coating technology, and testing methodologies. CHF 180k SNSF grant recipient and collaborations with multiple companies in Switzerland and abroad. I recently pursued scientific programming (Python + HTML) at a professional level, developing a scientific data management solution that has been deployed at the University of Zurich. I can also offer you full support around AI prompting, LLMs, and all kinds of IT-related stuff, including computer building, home automations, and advice.

Work Experience
University of Zurich
2025-11 - 2026-05
Full-Stack Developer
Zürich
fulltime
• Implementation of a customized OMERO-based scientific data management infrastructure, fully Dockerized and security-hardened. 70k+ lines of code, 130k+ lines of testing. REMBI-aligned data import. • Several custom Python/Django plugins for drag&drop image import, AI-assisted metadata harvesting, and sysadmins.
ETH Zurich
2021-01 - 2024-11
Senior Scientist
Zürich
fulltime
• Developed and tested selective solar absorbing metasurfaces, as an SNSF BRIDGE Proof of Concept fellow, having received a grant of CHF 180k. • Spearheaded the development of a quartz microcrystal-based ultrasensitive hydrogen sensor, from its concept to a fully functional pilot-scale prototype. • Designed and tested multiple vacuum chambers and data acquisition systems to enable sensing measurements in rapidly changing pressures and gas compositions. • Used Python and Matlab for signal analysis, simulation outputs, and LabVIEW for measurement workflows. • Specified, installed, and helped commission a sputter deposition system, designed for up to 4-target simultaneous co-sputtering.

Postdoctoral Researcher
Zürich
fulltime
• Developed superhydrophobic transparent photothermal metasurfaces for antifogging and water repellency applications. Investigated how surface morphology, micro/nano-roughness, and low surface energy chemistry affect the performance metrics and durability. • Modelling and data analysis for selective solar harvesting semi-transparent coatings that enhance the heating efficiency of plasmonic metasurfaces for commercial applications.
