Developed and synthesised active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), driving process optimisation and troubleshooting during lab-to-pilot scale-up. Designed and implemented scalable reaction routes, improved yields and purity, and resolved synthetic and operational issues to support production transfer. Led customer-driven projects, liaising with clients to define specifications, deliver samples, and incorporate feedback into process development. Performed analytical characterisation and QC using NMR, HPLC, UPLC‑MS, Biotage workflows, Karl Fischer titration, DSC and TGA, and interpreted data to guide process adjustments and ensure regulatory compliance. Collaborated with production and QA teams to document procedures and handover validated processes.

Part of the Chemistry and Materials team at the Hartree Centre (STFC). Worked on industrial projects applying modelling and simulation using high performance computing (HPC), combining computational simulations with data analysis and machine learning algorithms to develop real world prediction models. Engaged with customers throughout the collaboration lifecycle, from initial planning to development and delivery, and incorporated feedback to meet project goals. Represented the team at workshops and conferences to promote projects and foster academic and industry partnerships. Presented work and networked at international conferences, and co‑organized sector-focused events. Collaborated closely with industrial partners to define requirements, run pilot studies, and transfer methods into production.

Focused on developing and optimising a platform for RNA therapeutic detection using toehold‑mediated DNA strand displacement. Designed and validated assays, improved sensitivity and specificity, and collaborated across the team to advance prototype performance for translational applications.
