Climate & Development Finance
With over 18 years of experience in international development finance and impact investments (World Bank/IFC, IADB, UN, rA, NDB), Henrique has a proven track record of leading the structuring of USD 3.75 billion of investments in various sectors and regions. He has a unique ability to bridge public, private, and third sector stakeholders, and a deep understanding of how multilateral development banks (MDBs) and DFIs operate, assess risks, and measure impact. Henrique is passionate about supporting the global transition to a net zero and resilient economy, and is an early stage seed investor in climate tech innovations. He is also an ethical and inspirational leader with strong cross-cultural sensitivity and communication skills, and has built a strong global network of C-suite executives, government officials, regulators, and policy makers. He has lived and worked in Switzerland, China, USA, Kenya, Senegal, Mexico, and Brazil, and led business development and due diligence missions to over 70 countries. Currently, Henrique is a Development and Climate Finance expert at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), where he works with development finance institutions (DFIs) to promote sustainable finance and align the financial industry with the Paris Agreement, the Global Biodiversity Framework, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
