Post-Quantum Cryptography Researcher
Waterloo, Canada
internship
• Authored a paper, “Post-Quantum Fully Homomorphic Encryption with Group Ring Homomorphisms" (under review). • Proved using representation theory that a noiseless homomorphic encryption framework based on semisimple rings is infeasible. • Implemented a classical attack on the Leonardi-Ruiz-Lopez encryption framework instantiated on large products of small cyclic groups, which had been previously suggested to be secure. • Developed a quantum attack on a fully homomorphic encryption scheme based on matrix rings over group rings.

Cryptography Research Assistant
Waterloo, Canada
internship
• Studied graduate textbooks on class field theory, arithmetic of elliptic curves, and quaternion algebras. • Fixed multiple bugs in the novel Castryck-Decru attack on SIKE to allow backwards compatibility with Sage 9.5, increasing decryption speed by 7%. • Presented a seminar on the latest research in post-quantum cryptography to a graduate audience and was then invited as a speaker at the Canadian Math Society 2023 Conference for PhD students. • Researched supersingular isogeny cryptography and higher dimensional generalizations.
University of Waterloo
2022-05 - 2022-08
Pure Mathematics Research Assistant
Waterloo, Canada
internship
• Researched open problems like the Goldbach and Twin Primes Conjectures by using current circle method and sieve techniques and analyzing numerical tests in Python. • Presented modern research on the Hardy-Littlewood circle method at the Canadian Undergrad Math Conference. • Studied two graduate-level texts on analytic number theory and gave high-level seminars to an academic audience for each.
