Internship focused on process development for the manufacture of synthetic drug molecules. This opportunity involved: - Modelling and scale up of stirring, filtration and distillation using DynoChem (brief experience with kinetics and liquid-liquid extraction modelling) - Working in a scale-up lab, collaboratively running large-scale experiments to verify manufacturing steps - A project to model and better understand drug molecule particle size control in an agitated Nutsche filter and scale up effects by creating an attrition chamber, using large scale experiment particle size data, sonication and Kapur function analysis - Automation of process development steps using robots to run reactions, screen reaction parameters and conduct crystallizations - Assisting in safety analysis for manufacturing steps, by assessing process and raw material information and sharing with third parties
